Concepts & Functionality

OTM is integrated with Order Management(or external order processing system) which feeds sales orders to OTM.

Shipper

  • Review shipment request from OM or ERP
  • Create Tender
  • Publish tender to service provider
  • Service provider approves tender (isp)
  • picks up the shipment
  • tracking of shipment
  • send notifications until the shipment is delivered

Process Flow

  • ERP
    • Sales order created in Order Management
    • Sale order is published to WMS & Transport Management System(OTM)
  • Transport Management System(OTM)
    • Creates Shipment & tender
    •  Sends tender to carrier
  • Warehouse management system
    • Once tender is accepted by carrier, Shipment is sent to Warehouse management system
    • pick, pack, ship into container

Demo

  • Order Entry on OMS
  • Publish order to OTM
  • Planner reviews order in OTM and does following
    • plans shippments
    • Publishes Tender to carrier
  • Carrier accepts the tender from mobile/mail notification
  • Book dock appointment for carrier with WMS
  • Carrier completes the shipment
  • Carrier raises invoice using OTM

Order Management

  • Sales Order lines(order creation) in OM
  • Fulfillment lines(execute order, book/submit & schedule order). This contains shipdate, arrival date and so
    • Order Orchestration Process(copy seeded and modify it) to fulfill the order
  • Publish to OTM for planning
  • Log into OTM as Planner
    • Planning workbench -> review new orders from OM
    • Bulk Plan the order
    • Tender the shipment & publish to carrier
  • OTM mobile app used by carrier
    • Accept/Decline the tender
  • Dock Appointment(load the luggage into carrier)
    • OTM schedule appointment
    • select schedule available
  • Shipment details are sent to WMS cloud(WMS cloud has the details of Order from Order management)
  • Warehouse people Pick, Pack, ship the items
  • Based on dock appointment, the load will be pushed to Truck. Shipment will be executed.
  • Carrier can use OTM mobile app to complete shipment
  • Once shipment is delivered, invoice is created
  • Match the invoice against shipment and pay the carrier
    • Invoice contains base freight charge
    • Sur changes(addln amounts)
  • Other features
    • Shipment visbility
    • Track and Trace
  • IOT Fleet monitoring - Shipment tracking
    • When OTM is ready to execute shipment, it sends URL to driver.
    • Driver will have OTM fleet monitoring app in mobile
    • Driver can accept the shipment
    • Fleet monitoring app will send notifications to OTM cloud 
    • It gives real time location

Blockchain

  •   Distributed ledger, common database 
  • realtime unalterable records
  • Each block is connected with hashtag, which makes it unmutable
  • This is required when parties don't trust each other
  •
